Toast to the happy couple

I had a speech, and then a toast. I had worked out the speech days in advance, but the toast came to me the night before:
I've known John and Katie long time:
I've lived with them.
I've traveled through some of Europe with them.
I could tell you some stories...
But as a favor to the new couple I'll refrain... for now.
< to the couple>
There's a few things I'd like to tell you guys before I raise a toast to you:
Katie, you look absolutely beautiful today.
John, I've never seen you look happier.
And every act of kindness, assistance, or friendship we < gesture at gathered crowd > have ever shown you, you've returned to us 10 fold.
It is for that reason that I now raise this toast to you two today:
"May the road you travel together be a happy one.
May each step be taken out of love and heralded by laughter.
And may it be a long and joyful journey."
